I have fought a good fight, I have finished my is a course, I have kept; Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at my day” ~ II Timothy 4:7-8

Albert “Doc” Stevenson was born on May 22, 1947 to the late Idella and Roger Stevenson in New Orleans, LA.  Albert was the youngest of seven siblings.  He accepted Christ at an early age.  He married his loving wife, Deborah Stevenson on April 30, 1983.

On Thursday afternoon, December 7, 2017, our Heavenly Father reached down and said “Son, well done.  Your work here is done.  It’s time to come home and take your eternal rest”.

He graduated from South Down High School in 1965. He furthered his education at Delgado Community College earning an Associate’s Degree.  He is a veteran of both the United States Army and the United States Navy.  On his life’s journey he was employed as a service technician for Montgomery Ward, South Central Bell, AT&T and McDermott. He later became a small business owner starting his own company “Doc’s Communications and Wiring Service”, where he later added Refrigeration Services to his repertoire. He was truly a “jack of all trades” as those that knew him will testify too. His skills were always in hot demand.  He genuinely loved life, people, and all things family.

He leaves in God’s care his wife, Deborah H. Stevenson; three sons, Shayne (Wendy) Stevenson of Youngsville, LA; Shawn Stevenson of Gibson, LA; and Brian Stevenson of Amelia, LA; two daughters, Shannon Stevenson of Gibson, LA and April Jerome of Youngsville, LA; one brother, Allen (Edith) Stevenson of Thibodeaux, LA; and three sisters, Gladys Williams of Gray, LA; Ruby (Melvin) Poindexter of Gibson, LA; and Mary Margaret Stevenson of New Orleans, LA; eight grandchildren, DaJennea Stevenson, Quincy Harvey, Shayne Michael Stevenson, Jr., Ashton D. Harding, Jahkheem Mosely, Zhoe Harding, Shawnya Stevenson and Shawnacy Stevenson; two god-children, Johnny Gray of Gibson, LA and Lynore Harding of Youngsville, LA; a sister-in-law, Thelma (Oliver) Tallmore of Jeanerette, LA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He now joins in Glory his parents, Roger and Idella Stevenson; his grandparents, Ben and Elizabeth Steele; one brother, Manny Emanuel “Sonny Boy” Stevenson; one sister, Isadora Stevenson Williams; his former wife, Brunetta Cross and two brothers-in-law, Jasper Williams and Joseph Williams.
