James Anthony "Deedyman" Williams, 56, a native of Berwick, LA and resident of Franklin, LA passed away Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 11:20 am at his residence.
A viewing will be held on Saturday August 5, 2017 at Jones Funeral Home 1101 Main Street Franklin, LA from 8:00 AM until 10:00 AM. Visitation will resume at 11:00 AM until funeral services beginning at 1:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Berwick 109 Gilmore Drive, Berwick, LA 70342, with Pastor Wilson Ferguson, Jr.,Officiating. Burial will follow funeral services in the Berwick Cemetery in Berwick, LA.
James was born November 9, 1960 to the late James Williams, Jr. and Florence P. Williams in Morgan City, LA. Growing up in Berwick, James attended the Mason United Methodist Church in Berwick, LA and later became a member of the Magnolia the Word Church in Franklin, LA. James was a people's person, he took great pride in trying to never meet a stranger. He will surely be missed by his family and friends.
Memories of "Deedyman", as he was known to many, will forever remain in the hearts of his mother, Florence P. Williams of Berwick, LA; his devoted companion, Ruby Robinson of Franklin, LA; one son, Demandre Wiggins (Courtney) of Franklin, LA; one daughter, Chuntel Trimm (Christopher) of Morgan City, LA; two sisters, Celeste Williams and Carmen W. Robinson (Clarence) all of Berwick, LA; three grandchildren, Travis S. Ruffin, Jr., Judy Ruffin, and Christopher Carbins, Jr.; one nephew, Clarence K. Robinson; one niece, Iris Clair; other family members he gain to his union to Ruby, including, KeArria Robinson and her children Jhylen and Jholei Delasbour and a host of other relatives and friends.
James was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Roberson-Williams; his father, James Williams, Jr.; maternal grandparents, Anthony and Nettie F. Parsons and paternal grandparents, James Williams, Sr. and Mandy C. Williams.
