Leroy Raymond "Sweet Lee" Alexander, Sr., 77, a resident and native of Jeanerette, LA passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 at 8:55 pm at Iberia Medical Center.
Visitation will be observed on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 9:00 AM until funeral services beginning at 11:00 A.M at the Jones Funeral Home 1101 Main Street Franklin, LA. Burial following at St. Peter UMC Cemetery in Jeanerette, LA
Leroy Sr. was baptized at a very early age at the St. Peter United Methodist Church . Leroy, Sr., attended the F. M. Boley High School and graduated in 1960. Leroy was employed by J & L Honiron Company for 40 years and Cypress Bayou Casino for 4 years.
Memories of Leroy, or "Sweet Lee", as he was known to many, will forever remain in the hearts of his wife and sweet heart of 27 years, Valerie G. Alexander of Jeanerette, LA; sons, Neal (Darlene) Alexander, Micheal Alexander, Leroy K. Alexander, Byron (Cassandra) Alexander, and Leroy R. Alexander, Jr., Leroy was proud of his five sons; four daughters, Andrea, Alexander, Gail Alexander, Cynthia A. (Kevin) Madison, and Shameen (Kevin) Serial; five sisters, Ruby (George) Dupis, Patricia Alexander, Shirley Raymond, Regina Grant and Trucella Johnson; twenty-two grandchildren and thirty-three great-grandchildren, three brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Awaiting Leroy's arrival in Heaven with his Lord and Savior is his parents, Roscoe & Hilda Alexander; one sister, Sophie August, a brother-in-law, Micheal Garrette, and a mother-in-law, Lucille B. Garrette.
Leroy leaves a legacy of love behind. He will be sadly missed by his relatives and friends who realize that Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal.
