"The work I've done, seems so small. Sometimes it seems like nothing at all. When I stand before my God, I want to hear Him say WELL DONE. "May the Work I've Done, Life I've Lived, Service I've Given, SPEAK FOR ME"
Vivian Hall was born March 5, 1929 in Franklin, Louisiana to the union of Benny Hall and Elnora Kemp Hall. Vivian grew up and was educated in both the Louisiana and Texas school systems. Most of her younger years were spent in Houston, Texas and then she moved back to Louisiana, where she met and married Jesse Jones, Sr. and to this union four wonderful children were born.
When one would take the time to reflect upon the life of Vivian, it can truly be said that she lived a life of SERVICE, especially to others. She was employed by Plantation Inn as a Supervisor and Hotel Manager for many years. Later in life, she spent many years providing private home duty SErvices for various families in the area until her retirement.
Vivian was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Verdunville, LA; a charter member of St. Paul Chapter #3, 4th Degree Ladies of Grace in Lafayette, LA. She also served as Grand Lady of St. Martin De Porres Court #107 and the Knights of Peter Claver Ladies Auxiliary in Verdunville, LA until her illness.
"Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates." Proverbs 31: 25 - 31. On Saturday, January 27, 2018 at 1:18 AM, God called Vivian peacefully to her eternal resting place surrounded by those she loved, her family.
Vivian was a devoted wife, loving mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. She leaves the gift of love, faith, patience and courage to her devoted family, which includes her children: the Reverend Larry Jones, Sr. and his wife Shelia, of Verdunville, LA; Diane Jones-Pilette and her husband, Ronnie of Lafayette, LA; Lester Jones and his wife, Doris of Maurice, LA; a daughter-in-law, Izza Jones of Germany; two sons, to her marriage to Jesse Jones, Sr., Jesse Jones, Jr. and his wife, Janis of Verdunville, LA and LeRoy Jones and his wife, Hazel of Aurora, Colorado; two devoted friends, Darlene Patterson and her husband Benny of Baldwin, LA and Maria Russo of Patterson, LA; twenty-three grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and four pets she loved very much, Love (her own dog) and Cyrus, Roxie, and Luke (her grandchildren’s pets).
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Jesse Jones, Sr., a son, Clifford Jones; her parents, Benny Hall & Elnora Kemp Hall, two brothers, two sisters, and two devoted friends, Marie Verdun and Lucille Fleming.
