Obituary

Alvin Butler, Sr., 78, a resident and native of Patterson, LA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday January 13, 2021 at 8:23 AM at his residence in Patterson, LA. 

Visitation will be observed on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at the St. Luke Baptist Church, 1709 Harry St., Patterson, LA., from 9:00 AM until funeral services at 1:00 PM with Pastor Keith F. Verrett, Sr., Officiating. (All visitors are asked to adhere to the CDC/local regulations by wearing masks and practicing social distancing). Burial will follow funeral services in the New Salem Cemetery - Willing Workers side in Patterson, LA.

Memories of Alvin, Sr. will forever remain in the hearts of his loving wife of sixty years, Gloria Ann Butler; two sons, Alvin (Cora) Butler, Jr. all of Patterson, LA and Melvin Wayne (Cynthia) Butler, Sr. of Lake Arthur, LA; one brother, Erwin Butler, Sr.; three sisters, Cora Jean Span, Deborah Ann Gray, and Lorraine Butler all of Patterson, LA; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Alvin Sr. was preceded in death by his daughter, LaMonica Madise; grandson, Theron Madise, Jr.; parents, Milton & Alice Green Butler; one brother, Murphy Butler and two sisters, Catherine Calais and Alice Faye Boutte.
