Delories "Betty" Edwards

Delories "Betty" Edwards, 81, a native and resident of Jeanerette, LA passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center surrounded by family.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 8:00 AM until celebration of life at 10:00 AM at Greater New Hope Baptist Church 104 10th Street Baldwin, LA. Burial will follow in the St. Peter United Methodist Church Cemetery 986 St. Peter Street Jeanerette, LA.

Betty leaves to cherish her memories; seven sons, Darrell Edwards, Harold Edwards, Sr., Sanford Edwards, Sr., Wilfred Edwards, Jr., Kenneth Edwards, Sr., Keith J. Edwards, Sr., and Terrence Edwards; four daughters, Sandra E. Lockett, Veronica Edwards, Patricia E. Sereal, LaTonya Edwards; five brothers, Peterson Mathews, Jr., of Four Corners, O’Neal Mathews (Ruby), Leroy August (Doris), both of Houston, Texas, Kevin Lewis and Keith Lewis (Serena) of Jeanerette, LA; two sisters, Sherry (Pastor) Matthews, and Laurie Hardin, forty nine grandchildren, sixty great grandchildren, and nineteen great grand-children, along with a host of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Wilfred Edwards, Sr., a son, Peterson Mathews Edwards, her daughter, Sonya Edwards, a granddaughter, Christen Dorsey, her siblings, Celestine Mathews, Van B. Mathews, Rose Archangel, and her parents, Peterson, Sr. and Elizabeth A. Mathews.
