Jerome Matthews

Jerome Matthews, 71, a native of Gibson, LA and a resident of Houma, LA passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2022. 

Visitation will be observed on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at 8:00AM until funeral time at 10:00AM at St. Luke Baptist Church 3755 Bayou Black Drive Houma, LA 70360. Burial at St. Luke Baptist Church Cemetery in Dularge, LA. 

Memories of Jerome will forever remain in the heart of his wife, Rosie H. Matthews. Daughters, Jharo Matthews, Karen McGuire and Marcia Jones. Brothers, Alfred Lee Matthews, Michael Matthews, Raymond Victorian and sisters, Claradell Callaway, Viola Short and Dabbre Smith, four grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. 

Jerome was preceded in death by his parents, Mack D. Matthews and Marion B. Matthews and stepmother, Rosadell Matthews. Son, Jerome Matthews, Jr., and brothers, Donald, Cary, Harry and Bernell Matthews. Sisters, Zona Jackson, Carolyn Victorian and Wendolyn Williams.
