Obituary

Lelia Mae Thomas, 64, a resident of New Iberia, LA and native of Franklin, LA, passed away peacefully on Friday January 8, 2021 at 7:07 PM at the Iberia Medical Center. 

A public viewing will be observed on Saturday, January 16, 2021 from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM at Jones Funeral Home 1101 Main Street Franklin, LA. (All visitors are asked to adhere to the CDC/local regulations by wearing masks and practicing social distancing). Funeral Services will be private. Services will be accessible by viewing the Jones Funeral Home, Inc. Facebook Page at 11:00 AM on Saturday January 16, 2021. Lelia will be laid to rest in the St. John Cemetery - Pecot Street in Franklin, LA.

Memories of Lelia will forever remain in the hearts of her siblings, her sisters, Shelia (Garrette) Celestine of New Iberia, LA, Bridgette (Gary) Joe of Jeanerette, LA, Rose Boykins of Franklin, LA, Clara Adams of Lafayette, LA and Marie Brooks of Houston, TX; two brothers, Ray Thomas of Franklin, LA and Leroy Thomas of MI; a devoted friend, Alanza Lewis and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lelia Mae was preceded in death by her parents, Roy Thomas and Moise Elzy Thomas; her siblings, Juanita Thomas, Carolyn Thomas, Arlene Thomas and David Thomas; two aunts, Katherine Mitchell and Inez Boyd; two uncles, Wilbert Elzy and King Elzy; two nephews, Lashon Lashay Johnson and James Jones, III and a niece, Patrice Granger.
