Matthew Johnson

Matthew Johnson, 84, a resident of Franklin, LA passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 5, 2023 at his residence.

Visitation will be observed on Saturday, August 19, 2023 from 9:00 AM until funeral service at 11:00 AM at Greater St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church 315 Sixth Street Franklin, LA. Pastor Deandre Johnson, celebrant. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.

Matthew leaves to cherish his memories two children, Stephanie (Paris Epluribus) Johnson-Harris of Rio Vista, CA, and Matthew Johnson, Jr. of Franklin, LA; his siblings, Clarence (Stella) Johnson, Jr. of Charenton, LA,  Felton (Lucille) Johnson and Glenn Johnson, Sr., both of Lake Charles, LA; grandchildren, Duane Turner, Talia Stone, Tennelle Turner-Washington, Kyla Johnson, and Tyreke Johnson; great granddaughters, Natalia Sullivan, Leilani Villafan, and  Mylie Taetem-Turner; a great great grandson, Jason Evans, along with a host of relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence, Sr. and Selena Johnson, his wife, Emma Nedd Johnson and his sister,  Elouise Foulcard and her husband, Claude Foulcard, Sr.
