Milton Westley Obituary

Milton Lee Westley was born on April 30, 1951, to Raymond and Rebecca Stoves Poindexter in New Orleans, Louisiana. He transitioned from labor to reward on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Terrebonne General Medical Center.

Milton vowed his life to his wife, Annabelle Westley for fifty-three years. They were blessed with three beautiful children, Cordell, Tyese, and Esperance. The joy of his life was their grandchildren, Tyanaese, T.J., Autumn, and Colt.

He attended Southdown High School, where he played football and member of the band as a trumpet player.

Milton was employed by Texaco Oil for seventeen years. Later, after moving to Orlando, Florida, he became Regional Director for Airborne Express. Upon returning home in 2004, he began working for United Visions Logistics (Dynasty) until he finally retired.

Milton loved music and playing the trumpet. He was an accomplished musician,   who was privileged to be a member of a musical ensemble playing beautiful melodies with his former band instructors. He liked watching football games and eating his favorite dish, red beans and rice.

Milton Lee was a faithful member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Chauvin and was ordained as a deacon by his father-in-law, Rev. Clarence Fleming, Sr. in 1987. Upon moving to Orlando, Florida, Milton continued his deaconship with vigor and commitment at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church. He also served as a member of the Cathedral Choir and Male Chorus.
